Dr. Sophie Bergeron, our laboratory director, and Dr. Beáta Bőthe, a former postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory, have contributed to an article entitled “Partner knowledge of pornography use: Daily and longitudinal associations with relationship quality”. The article, published last June in The Journal of Sex Research, focuses on data from a study in which Dr. Bergeron was the principal investigator. The project was conducted in collaboration with Dalhousie University’s Couples and Sexual Health Laboratory. The results show that when an individual’s solitary pornography use was unknown by their partner, they reported lower levels of intimacy and relationship satisfaction. When an individual’s solitary pornography use was known, they reported higher intimacy over one year, while their partner reported lower intimacy.
