TEAM SCOUP
Sexuality & Couples

Sophie Bergeron  Ph.D

Our SCOUP Team, started in the summer of 2016, comprises researchers from the Université de Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, Université du Québec à Montréal and Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, all conducting research, clinical work and training in couples and sexuality.

Our Team's program of research focuses on three areas examining couples' sexual and relationship wellbeing, via the analysis of (1) protective factors such as romantic attachment and intimcay, (2) risk factors such as childhood interpersonal trauma and digital technologies, and (3) the development and evaluation of targeted interventions for vulnerable couples.

Our research aims to inspire social policy, promote efficient knowldege translation and guide preventive and curative practices in this area at the heart of individuals', couples' and families' quality of life, as well as that of many mental health practitioners' preoccupations and needs.

Our SCOUP Team is supported by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Société et Culture (FRQSC) and our researchers hold grants from CIHR and SSHRC.
