We are delighted to welcome Alexandra Brouillard, who is joining the lab as a postdoctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Sophie Bergeron!
Alexandra holds a doctorate in psychology (D.Psy./Ph.D.) from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Her research interests focus on women’s reproductive and psychological health. In particular, she is interested in the effects of endogenous and exogenous sex hormones on women’s brain and mental health.
As part of her postdoctoral fellowship, Alexandra will contribute to the Child Maltreatment and Couples’ Sexual Well-Being project. More specifically, she will investigate the interactions between childhood interpersonal trauma and hormonal factors in women’s sexual health. Her work will examine whether women with a history of childhood trauma are more vulnerable to hormonal changes, whether occurring throughout the menstrual cycle or associated with the use of hormonal contraception.
