Dr. Bergeron is a Full Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Université de Montréal and holder of the Canada Research Chair in Intimate Relationships and Sexual Well-Being. Research in her laboratory focuses on the psychosocial and interpersonal aspects of individuals’ and couples’ sexual health and wellbeing. An important part of our work focuses on the etiology and treatment of sexual difficulties in couples. Other research examines how relational intimacy and childhood interpersonal trauma may act as protective and risk factors for couples’ sexuality. Finally, a third area of research concerns the sexual health trajectories of adolescents and young adults.

Ongoing research
Our current work aims to improve the well-being of couples coping with sexual dysfunction as well as the sexuality and relationships of adolescents transitioning to adulthood.
