Our laboratory at the 50th annual meeting of the Society for Sex Therapy and Research

From April 24th to 27th, the Society for Sex Therapy and Research (SSTAR) held its 50th annual conference in Philadelphia. The theme of this year’s conference was “Sexuality, Trauma and Healing”, and several members of our laboratory were in attendance. Here is a summary of their presentations:

-Marie-Michèle Paquette, doctoral student in clinical psychology (Ph. D. R/l)

Poster presentation – “Understanding sexual wellbeing across gender and sexual identities: Insights from the 42-counrty International Sex Survey”

-Catherine Hamel, doctoral student in clinical psychology (Ph. D. R/l)

Poster presentation – “Does physical affection promote sexual well-being among couples coping with SIAD? A dyadic longitudinal study”

-Silke Jacmin-Park, doctoral student in clinical psychology (Ph. D. R/l)

Poster presentation – “Discrimination and sexual distress among SGM and cisgender heterosexual couples”

-Arianne Roy, doctoral student in clinical psychology (D. Psy)

Poster presentation – “Quality over quantity : The moderating role of feelings of closeness in the daily associations between time spent together, sexual desire and sexual distress among couples with SIAD”

Not only was the laboratory well represented, but two students also won awards for the quality of their presentations. Silke won the Best Integration of EDI Principles Poster Award, and Arianne won the Best Poster Award for a Student/Postdoctoral Fellow!
